With a total of three different frequencies - 100, 75 and 50 Hz - NOVAFON enables systematic treatment of each individual body region.
100 Hz is used to relieve pain. When the sensory stimulus of vibration hits the nerve fibers, the transmission of pain signals to the brain can be interrupted because the sensory stimulus overrides the pain stimulus. This effect, known as "gate control theory," can last for a long time after treatment if used regularly. In this way, pain can be relieved - without any medication at all.

Is the effect of the treatment scientifically proven?
Yes. The first clinical studies investigating pain-reducing effects of local vibration therapy date back to the 1980s. Since then, sound wave therapy has established itself as an effective, non-drug treatment for acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain. By applying vibration to the painful area or to surrounding trigger points, a long-lasting alleviating effect has been demonstrated for a number of chronic pain conditions (including fibromyalgia, tendinitis, phantom limb pain) (Staud, 2011, Lundeberg, 1984-1987).

Is the treatment painful?
No. Basically, the treatment with the NOVAFON is of a very pleasant nature. After switching on the device, you will hear a soft buzzing sound. As soon as you place the device on the areas of the body to be treated, this buzzing becomes even quieter, and you feel the gentle but efficient vibrations on your skin. However, keep in mind not to treat for more than 20 min and give your body the time to get used to the vibrations.

Can I make something worse or "break" it with treatment?
Local vibration therapy with the NOVAFON is a simple, safe and effective therapy method. It is certified by TÜV for use by consumers at home. However, as a medical device manufacturer, it is important to us that you use our device correctly and we would like to draw your attention to the following contraindications and information on side effects:
NOVAFON is not to be used on:
- Open wounds / eczema (in the body region to be treated).
- Arteriosclerosis (in the body region to be treated)
- Current episodes of epilepsy
- Pregnancy
- Implants (in the body region to be treated)
- Cardiac pacemakers
- Thrombosis (in the body region to be treated)
- Brain pacemakers
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Tumors
SIDE EFFECTS
Please note that in rare cases the following side effects may occur:
- Pain intensification / unpleasant sensation
- Malaise / dizziness
- Skin irritation
Reflex / involuntary muscle contractions
Please discontinue treatment immediately if any of these side effects occur and contact us for further action. Please note that slight redness and warming of the skin is not a cause for concern. This is a desired effect of Local Vibration Therapy resulting from increased blood flow.
