Use of the NOVAFON is not permitted with:
- Open wounds/eczema (in the body region being treated)
- Arteriosclerosis (in the body region being treated)
- Current episodes of epilepsy
- Pregnancy
- Implants (in the body region being treated)
- Heart pacemakers
- Thromboses (in the body region being treated)
- Brain pacemakers
- Cardiac arrhythmia
- Tumours, cancerous and non-cancerous
- Acute inflammations (in the body region being treated)
- Acute episodes of inflammatory diseases
The following applications must be specifically considered for anatomical reasons when using on animals, and should only be utilised after consultation with or examination from a veterinarian or animal therapist:
- Avoid the parotid gland
- Avoid the jugular groove / jugular vein
- Do not use to treat foals / puppies without clinical indications
- Do not use directly on windgall / windpuff
- Do not use directly on fresh fractures / bone sequestra / osteochondrosis dissecans
- Do not use directly on old or healed suspensory ligament / tendon injuries
- Unexplained swellings
- RAOs (Recurrent Airway Obstructions: COPD, COB, heaves / broken wind)
- Headshaking, shivering, stringhalt
- PSSM, EMS
- Laminitis
Do not use for treating pains or swellings of unknown origin. In that case consult a medical professional for clarification and diagnosis.
SIDE EFFECTS
Please note that in rare cases the following side effects may occur:
- Intensification of pain / unpleasant sensations
- Discomfort / dizziness
- Skin irritation
- Reflex / involuntary muscle contractions
Please cease treatment immediately if one of this side effects occurs. Note that, especially with pain management, an initial worsening of the complaint may occur before you notice an improvement. Please note that slight reddening and warming of the skin do not represent a cause for concern. This is a desired effect of local vibration therapy, resulting in increased blood flow.

Instructions for use and contraindications
Local vibration therapy is a simple, safe, and effective therapeutic aid. NOVAFON devices can be used on people of all ages but no younger than as 6 years. They are also used on fully grown animals (from 3 kg body weight). Under supervision of qualified professionals, earlier use may also be possible. However, DO NOT use the devices on patients aged younger than 2 years. Furthermore, people with limited cognition need to be supervised. However, please note the following contraindications and information regarding side effects.
