Almost every athlete has experienced knee pain at some stage, but knee problems are also common within the population in general. They are a helpful warning signal that something is not right with the knee. More dangerous, though, are pain-free defects of the knee joint, such as small meniscal tears or early cartilage damage that can lead to arthrosis of the knee if unnoticed and untreated. Athletes suffer more frequently from the patella tip syndrome (“jumper’s knee”) that result in pain at the lower end of the kneecap. This is generally caused by excessive strain as the result of inappropriate biomechanical stress or highly intensive training.
TREATMENT OF THE KNEE

Treatment of the knee
The NOVAFON device can be used for the regulation of muscle tone and treatment of the sore areas of the knee. NOVAFON treatment takes a total of 10–15 minutes per side and can be repeated up to twice daily. Before you start, plug your NOVAFON into the socket and take a comfortable seat. Carry out the treatment on the affected side, or both sides if required. Make sure to follow the steps outlined here precisely.
1 – STROKING OF THE MUSCLES ABOVE THE KNEE
Make sure you are sitting comfortably to treat the knees. Switch your NOVAFON to level II and move the device along the entire surface from the inside to the outside of the thigh for 2–3 minutes using the plate attachment.
2 – CIRCLING OF THE LATERAL KNEE JOINT
Then circle the lateral knee joint, on both the outside and the inside.
3 – CIRCLING OF THE KNEECAP
Next select the ball attachment and switch the device to level I, slowly circling your kneecap for 2–3 minutes.
4 – TREATMENT OF SORE AREAS
Then treat the sore areas for 30–60 seconds; they are usually located above the knee or below the kneecap. You can either spot-treat the sore areas or use a gentle circular motion. Repeat this treatment up to twice a day.
